OTTAWA - An Ontario court has upheld a decision to grant bail to a local hospital worker facing terrorism charges.
Misbahuddin Ahmed, 26, of Ottawa faces charges of conspiracy to facilitate terrorism and possession of an explosive device.
The prosecution had appealed Ahmed's release on a $645,000 bond, paid by his parents and in-laws who put up their homes as surety.
Co-accused Khurram Sher of London, Ont., was also released on bail.
Another alleged plotter, Hiva Alizadeh of Ottawa, remains in custody.
Ahmed, 26, worked as an X-ray technician at an Ottawa hospital.
When the men were arrested in August, police said they seized terrorist literature, videos and manuals, along with dozens of electronic circuit boards allegedly designed to detonate homemade bombs remotely.
Police said the suspected plot reached to Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Dubai.
