CAMPOBELLO ISLAND, N.B. -- A humpback whale was untangled from lobster fishing gear in the Bay of Fundy earlier this week.
Mackie Greene of the Campobello Whale Rescue Team says five members of his group and federal Fisheries officers travelled about 80 kilometres offshore from New Brunswick's Campobello Island to reach the whale on Tuesday.
Greene says the group freed the nine-year-old whale from ropes attached to lobster fishing gear.
He says his group has rescued about 26 whales since it started operating in 2002.
