Â鶹ӰÊÓ' special coverage of the Alberta election

ALBERTA ELECTION 2019 was the first general election held after the Alberta NDP defeated the Progressive Conservative government in 2015.

This election was also the first contested by the United Conservative Party, formed in 2017 by a merger of the Progressive Conservatives and the Wildrose Party.

A majority win for Jason Kenney's UCP means a return to the right-centre for Alberta, its traditional home since the middle of the last century. Rachel Notley, meanwhile, made history as the first-ever leader of an Alberta party that failed to win a renewed mandate on its first try.
