Sunday's two-year anniversary of the Vancouver Olympics has this country's summer Olympians dreaming of making Canada proud at the London Summer Games.
Canadian athletes picked up 26 medals at the 2010 Winter Games, and officials at Own the Podium predict a top-12 medal finish for Canada in London.
Triathlete and Olympic veteran Simon Whitfield said he is training full-time, fueled by the excitement he saw in Vancouver.
"I remember it all, it was an incredible experience and certainly the two years since that passion and pride has carried a lot of summer athletes through toward their goals in London," he said, adding he expects their work to pay off. "I know you'll see some exciting results."
Canada's winter Olympic athletes set the bar pretty high at the Vancouver Games. In 2010, the Canadian Olympic team set a record for the most gold medals won by a country in a single Winter Olympics with 14. They also earned the most medals Canada has ever won at an Olympics.
In return, Canadians came out to support athletes on a scale never seen before. And although this year's party is taking place in another country, the summer athletes are hoping to feel some of that same enthusiasm and support.
"To have that kind of support from your country is by far the most amazing feeling an athlete can have," said hurdler Priscilla Lopes-Schliep.
Now with just months to go, the support for London-bound Olympians is building and the 2010 winter athletes are promising to watch.
"I know I've got my PVR set, I'm ready, I'm going to try to watch as much as I can," said Canadian skeleton athlete Mellissa Hollingsworth.
