MONTREAL -- SNC-Lavalin says it has been awarded a contract to build a natural gas compression plant in Colombia for Transportadora de Gas Internacional S.A. E.S.P.
Financial terms of the project were not immediately available.
The construction company (TSX:SNC) says the plant for the La Sabana gas pipeline in Colombia is slated to be finished by 2015.
The project will allow the South American country's largest natural gas transportation company, a subsidiary of Grupo Energia de Bogata, to meet peak demand for natural gas.
Montreal-based SNC-Lavalin is one of the largest engineering and construction firms in Colombia with nearly 2,000 employees in the country.
