TRENTON, Ont. - The body of the latest Canadian soldier to be killed in Afghanistan has returned home for a repatriation ceremony at CFB Trenton in eastern Ontario.

Pte. Terry Street, 24, died last Friday when the vehicle he was in struck a roadside bomb west of Kandahar City.

During a ramp ceremony in Kandahar on Saturday, Street was described as a `vibrant, keen, energetic, personable young soldier.'

He was remembered as a `tremendously solid individual' who had a sharp sense of humour.

Street, who was born in Hull, Que., served with the 2nd Battalion of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry based in Shilo, Man.

He is the 82nd Canadian soldier to die in the Afghanistan mission since 2002.
