The body of the latest Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan is due to arrive today at CFB Trenton in eastern Ontario.
Sergeant Scott Shipway was killed Sunday when his armoured vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the volatile Panjwaii district of Kandahar province.
Seven other soldiers were injured -- none seriously.
Shipway, who was 36, was based at CFB Shilo in southern Manitoba.
He's the 97th Canadian soldier killed in the Afghan mission, which began six years ago.
Among the dignitaries who will attend today's repatriation ceremony will be Governor General Michaelle Jean, Defence Minister Peter MacKay and General Walter Natynzcyk, the chief of defence staff.
