VANCOUVER - Punk rocker Bif Naked has married a newspaper sports writer in a traditional ceremony at a downtown Vancouver church.
The 36-year-old former Winnipeg resident, who has performed on the same bill as Snoop Dogg, Billy Idol and Sarah McLachlan, wed Ian Walker of the Vancouver Sun at St. Andrews Wesley United Church.
Bif Naked, whose birth name was Beth Torbert, was adopted by American missionaries in India and raised in Kentucky and Winnipeg.
She fronted punk bands before going solo, writing poetry and songs, some which talk frankly about her bisexuality.
Besides a Juno-award-winning music career, she has several television and movie roles to her credit.
Walker, a Sun sports reporter for seven years, also writes a blog on extreme sports. The 34-year-old Walker describes himself as a failed pro athlete who once aspired to a hockey career and tried out for the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League two years ago.
