NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. - Five B.C. citizens who say the Conservative government isn't taking enough action on climate change will face a judge next month after being arrested for a sit-in protest.
A 15-year-old boy was among the North Vancouver group who refused to leave the constituency office of Tory MP Andrew Saxton on Friday.
A spokeswoman for the group says they walked into the office in the morning and said they wouldn't leave until they could speak with Saxton to share their concerns.
Laura Yates, 34, says they knew Saxton was in China with Prime Minister Stephen Harper, but wanted to reach him by phone to arrange a meeting -- but he never responded.
RCMP say the all-day protest was peaceful, but officers moved to arrest the group under the criminal code provision of assault by trespass when they wouldn't leave the office at closing time.
The sit-in, part of a series of nationwide protests, comes on the eve of international climate change talks in Copenhagen.
