SURREY, B.C. - Police have released the names of the latest two victims in a string of shootings that have rocked the Metro Vancouver area since Christmas Eve.
Thirty-eight-year-old Jeremy Bettan was gunned down in the driveway of his home in Langley on Boxing Day evening, while 28-year-old Apollo Lyn Simpson was found dead on the ground of a Surrey neighbourhood Tuesday morning.
No arrests have been made in the killings, which were the fourth and fifth shooting in four days, with all but one of the victims dying.
The other three shootings happened in Surrey, beginning Christmas Eve when 28-year-old Bradley McPherson was gunned down outside a house party.
Twenty-seven-year-old Alok Gupta was shot and killed in a convenience store Christmas Day and a 54-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the chest the same day in an apartment.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating the shootings, but its commanding officer, RCMP Supt. Dan Malo, says he doesn't believe the attacks are linked.
