EDMONTON - Alberta Premier Alison Redford says there's hasn't been a sea change in Alberta politics.
She says people have wanted change and her party has simply caught up to that desire.
Redford was sworn in as Alberta's 14th premier in the legislature rotunda.
She said she couldn't have imagined when she entered the Progressive Conservative leadership race that she would become the premier.
Redford has a tough job ahead of her -- only one caucus member supported her when she entered the race.
She's also under early attack from the rival right-of-centre Wildrose party and Alberta's largest union.
Redford replaces the retiring Ed Stelmach, who was premier for five years and who gave her a big hug as she stood to be sworn in.
She is to appoint her cabinet next week.
